Dunav Country Club is located in Sremski Karlovci, on the Danube banks. There used to be charda, which was favorite place for meeting Serbian and Austro-Hungarian intellectuals and bohemians. The hotel location is exceptional for many reasons, among them the size of the hotel area, arrangement and very good traffic connections with Belgrade and Novi Sad. The distance from Belgrade is 80 km and from Novi Sad only 10 km.
Dunav Country Club has 52 accommodation units with 102 beds in total, some of which are rooms and some are apartments.
All rooms are comfortable and equipped with air conditioner, TV, mini bar, safe, and wireless internet. You can choose between non smoking and smoking rooms.
Sremski Karlovci, historical town
Sremski Karlovci are one of the most beautiful small towns in South Eastern Europe. This picturesque town is located in northern Serbia, on the gentle slopes of the Fruška gora mountain and banks of the Danube river. It stands as a spiritual gate and administrative center of many Orthodox monasteries on Fruška gora. Due its location this town was a connecting point between East and West for centuries. Two dominant European cultures intertwined there which resulted in abundance of styles from the last three centuries. The town center is under the government's protection.
Sremski Karlovci were Serbian religious center in 18th century. In 1713 Sremski Karlovci became the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Habsburg monarchy. The historical buildings: Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas (1762), The Patriarchate Court (1894), the first Serbian Orthodox Seminary (1900) and the oldest Serbian Gymnasium (1791) are located beside the Four Lions Square, in the baroque center of the town. The Lady of Peace Chapel stands in the place where the Treaty of Karlowitz was signed in 1699 concluding the Austro-Ottoman War.
Sremski Karlovci is famous for its wine cellars where you can enjoy high quality wines. Grozdjembal a famous grape harvest celebration, which take place in Sremski Karlovci every September, is unique opportunity to enjoy local wine and have fun with local musicians.
